COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT, NEIGHBORHOOD REINVESTMENT PROGRAM GRANTS AND CEQA EXEMPTIONS (DISTRICT 4)

OVERVIEW

The County of San Diego is fortunate to have an opportunity to reinvest taxpayer money into our communities for the benefit of the public. This action will assist the County in meeting the needs of the community.

 

RECOMMENDATION(S)

SUPERVISOR NATHAN FLETCHER

1.                     Allocate $20,000 from the Community Enhancement ARPA Program budget (Org 12905) to DISCO RIOT to support the Queer MVMNT Fest, S P A C E Alliance Artist Residency Program, Choreo &, and ongoing donation-based dance classes. The COVID-19 pandemic created continued challenges for appropriately resourcing programs and the impact of losing affordable and accessible performance venues and rehearsal spaces is still there because of the lingering impact of the pandemic on arts programs.

 

2.                     Allocate $20,000 from the Community Enhancement ARPA Program budget (Org 12905) to Noah Homes, Inc. to pay for direct support professionals to accompany residents and community members and reopen these critical Day Care programs and to help pay for the staff time and program costs for the direct care staff to carry out their day care programs that were suspended during the COVID-19 PPE protocols to keep residents safely sheltering in place.

 

3.                     Allocate $20,000 from the Community Enhancement ARPA Program budget (Org 12905) to Pacific Arts Movement to help with staffing, facilities, film licensing, equipment, and marketing for the 23rd San Diego Asian Film Festival, to support teaching artists and program expenses for the Reel Voices Youth Documentary Filmmaking Education, and to support staffing, facility, film licensing, and marketing costs for the 12th SDAFF Spring Showcase. Pacific Arts Movement had continued challenges as numerous funding sources have continued to remain scaled back or focused on other initiatives in response to COVID-19. As a result, their ability to support full staff while providing programming to their anticipated audiences, remains a challenge moving forward.

 

4.                     Allocate $10,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to Autism Tree Project Incorporated to help fund their Navigating Neurodiversity and Mentor Programs. This will support families impacted by autism with individualized assistance navigating services and therapy. The Mentor Program provides children and families impacted by autism with the social communication opportunities necessary for success like music therapy, adaptive art and dance, STEM workshops, family beach days, farm days and events with the USD Football and Baseball teams.

 

5.                     Allocate $4,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to Coastal Roots Farm to fund staffing and transportation costs for the Organic Food Distribution for Native Americans to provide no-cost, fresh produce deliveries for at-risk, homebound, seniors and Indigenous families living throughout District 4.

 

6.                     Allocate $5,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to Culture Shock Dance Troupe, Inc. to help fund their free event Shock N’The Park 2023 at the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation, to engage, educate, and inspire communities and celebrate hip hop dance.

 

7.                     Allocate $10,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to ESMERA dba City Heights Town Council, Inc. to help fund the workshops for parents to involve their families more deeply in school activities and school achievement, and to assist families to overcome anxiety, depression, PTSD, alcohol and drug abuse.

 

8.                     Allocate $10,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to Kitchens for Good, Inc. to help cover payroll costs for their Workforce Development for Hospitality to deliver State-approved culinary, baking, and hospitality apprenticeship programs for community members excluded from the workforce to create an expedited path to employment in San Diego's robust hospitality industry.

 

9.                     Allocate $20,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to MANA de San Diego to help fund their Hermanitas Youth Mentorship & Leadership Program, Tias Program, and Latina Success Leadership Program which provides low-income, first-generation Latina youth with long-term mentorship and college preparation, career exploration, and leadership development activities to ensure they graduate high school on-time and enter college as they strive for professional careers that will provide them with economic and social mobility.

 

10.                     Allocate $5,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to Media Arts Center San Diego to help fund their annual Arts Fest by securing an event space, decorations, and compensation to live artists and musicians.

 

11.                     Allocate $5,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to Mojalet Dance Collective to help fund the Enchanted & Endangered Live Performances at The Joan B Kroc Theater which provides an experience through the lens of dance supporting environmental consciousness and respect for community.

 

12.                     Allocate $20,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to North Park Organization of Business, Inc. to support their Winter Wonderland event which includes multiple skating sessions, a laser light show, carolers, photo booths and crafts. The funds will also support staffing for Rapid Response Homeless Coordinator outreach position whose scope of work would be to respond to the needs of businesses as it relates to dealing with unsheltered individuals.

 

13.                     Allocate $3,500 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to San Diego Children’s Choir to fund partial salary of artistic director, middle and high school choir director to supplement continued loss of funding.

 

14.                     Allocate $10,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to San Diego Diplomacy Council to support the staff responsible for bringing international visitors into San Diego through the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) and to support the staff responsible for bringing international visitors into San Diego through the Custom Programs.

 

15.                     Allocate $10,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to San Diego Regional Fire & Emergency Services Foundation to help fund their EMT & Wildfire Curriculum Development which is a one-time cost to develop culturally diverse programming supporting English language learners and to fund labor costs for EMT & Wildfire instruction.

 

16.                     Allocate $10,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to San Diego Urban Warriors to fund the 31st Annual Kuumba Fest which enhances the economy, strengthening opportunities for working artist and support technicians, raising levels of awareness, through edutainment, positive images, challenges, and spiritual rejuvenation.

 

17.                     Allocate $10,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to Transgender Health and Wellness Centers to help fund supervised job skills training on medical equipment in the art and science of hair removal, tattoo removal, and body sculpting which creates economic reinvestment in the San Diego District 4 community by preparing residents for sustainable employment.

 

18.                     Allocate $10,000 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to Urban Restoration Counseling Center to help establish and fortify the foundation needed for the Therapy for All program. Program establishes a self-sustainable training program designed to educate and develop clinicians of color with the skills to deepen the healing in communities of color and promote mental health wellness for BIPOC families.

 

19.                     Allocate $2,450 from the Community Enhancement Program budget (Org 12900) to Volunteer with Cheli, Inc. to fund hiring a professional to facilitate next board retreat, board development training, and supporting board members in pursuit of professional development conferences or other networking events and to fund background checks for volunteers to ensure the safety of the volunteers and community partners.

 

20.                     Allocate $10,000 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to College Area Economic Development Corporation to help make initial capital improvements and purchases to convert their building into a more effective community-use building to help bring the building up to standards of ADA compliance for accessibility and to offer a modern, inviting space for the numerous neighborhood organizations to meet, work and collaborate.

 

21.                     Allocate $10,000 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to Believe It. Achieve It. to help purchase outdoor gym equipment such as weights, sleds, plyo boxes, balance beams, obstacle course equipment, sports equipment, first aid equipment, and CPR mannequins.

 

22.                     Allocate $9,975 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to BIPOC Support Foundation to support the purchase of program materials including yoga mats, art supplies, journals, T-shirts, lanyards, and cleaning supplies for their innovative multiculturally-focused afterschool program to students at Perry Elementary School during Spring 2023.

 

23.                     Allocate $3,500 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to ESMERA dba City Heights Town Council, Inc. to fund office supplies, electronics, paper, ink, toner, and binders.

 

24.                     Allocate $20,000 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to Experience Nature Unplugged dba Mission Edge San Diego to fund materials and one-time costs associated with Nature Unplugged’s Educational Presentations and Train-the-Trainer materials such as workbooks, books, educational conversation cards, training manuals, trainee materials, facilitator materials and technology, portable storage containers, purchase & printing of branded t-shirts, cell phone sleeping bags, water bottles, camping chairs, roll top tables, field journals, pens/pencils/markers, white boards and dry erase markers, clipboards, and name tags.

 

25.                     Allocate $5,000 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to The Grandparents Connection, Inc. to help fund their outdoor events for families and the community in which they serve to come together to embrace other grandparents, caregivers, and families by providing for the purchase of ongoing event equipment’s such as coolers, tents, filers, refrigerators, generators, canopies, warmers for food, banners, and children games.

 

26.                     Allocate $20,000 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to Neighborhood House Association to assist with the start-up costs for the new Culinary Education and Training Center by purchasing furniture, small wares, cooking equipment, IT equipment, and similar items needed to begin operating the training programs.

 

27.                     Allocate $20,000 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to Old Globe Theatre to help purchase equipment that better supports program participants and attendees with disabilities from every supervisorial district in San Diego such as two new transportation shuttles seating 12 elderly or mobility-impaired guests that can safely reach all parking lots in Balboa Park and 40 replacement batteries for assisted listening devices that accommodate hard-of hearing guests.

 

28.                     Allocate $25,000 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to St. Stephen’s Church of God in Christ of San Diego, California to help pay the cost of remodeling and developing the new space in the lower level of the church site facility to house a childcare center they have partnered with called Purpose Driven Daycare Center that is open to all on a non-denominational basis. The remodeling includes installation of new flooring for an upgraded kitchen area, refurbishing of an outdoor playground space for the children, and furnishing the new space.

 

29.                     Allocate $20,000 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to SanDiego350 to help cover the cost of canopies, tables, chairs, t-shirts, displays, handouts, tablets and videoconferencing system, laptops, projector, handouts to provide public education related to climate change, environmental justice and sustainability to diverse adult and youth residents in County Supervisorial District 4 at no cost.

 

30.                     Allocate $20,000 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to San Diego Blood Bank to pay the cost of purchasing a new bloodmobile to make it possible to meet donors in the communities.

 

31.                     Allocate $7,500 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to San Diego Diplomacy Council to purchase laptops, docking stations and laptop cases to replace old, broken and dysfunctional equipment.

 

32.                     Allocate $20,000 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to San Diego Parks Foundation to help provide lighting equipment for public safety and falls and extend usage times in the evenings.

 

33.                     Allocate $10,000 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to Southern Regional Resource Center, Inc. for one-time technology expenses to digitize client files, migrate SCRC's locals’ data from VPN to SharePoint (cloud), purchase laptops, purchase office desks/chairs/partitions for shared workstations.

 

34.                     Allocate $30,000 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to Transgender Health and Wellness Center to help pay the cost of electrolysis machines, laser hair removal machine, laser tattoo removal machine, and body sculpting machine which provides opportunities for clients to get the critical health care they need.

 

35.                     Allocate $4,079 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget (Org 15665) to Volunteer with Cheli, Inc. to purchase technology such as HP Envy Business Laptop, Micro Surface Pro 9, Apple iPads, and a high yield business color laser printer to increase productivity and program effectiveness.

 

36.                     Find that all the grants have a public purpose and that the grants made use ARPA funds are necessary to address an impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the funded organization.

 

37.                     Authorize the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Financial Officer to enter into agreements and make minor amendments to agreements that do not change the purpose or amount of the grant to organizations awarded funds.

 

38.                     Find that the proposed grants to the College Area Economic Development Corporation, St. Stephen’s Church of God in Christ San Diego, California, and San Diego Parks Foundation are exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) by Section 15301 of the CEQA Guidelines.

 

EQUITY IMPACT STATEMENT

We recognize that the systemic impacts that inequitable policies may create for residents in San Diego County. The proposed allocation of funds is intended to improve the quality of life throughout the County by providing funds to nonprofits whose work addresses inequities by providing services to all throughout the county. Organizations are chosen for funding based on their location or the demographics they serve with a focus on underserved communities that contain higher numbers of People of Color and LGBTQ+ people. Organizations chosen should work to promote a sense of belonging and utilize equity in their operations, outreach, and programs. Supporting documents were reviewed as well as impact reports and community testimony to verify the organization meets these goals.

 

SUSTAINABILITY IMPACT STATEMENT

Today’s action to support these organizations supports the County of San Diego’s Goals of sustainability by funding organizations that support sustainability and environmental justice.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

Funds for these grant allocation requests are included in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Operational Plan for the Community Enhancement ARPA Program (Org 12905), Community Enhancement Program (Org 12900) and the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program (Org 15665). The fiscal impact of these recommendations is $60,000 from the Community Enhancement ARPA Program (Org 12905), $144,950 from the Community Enhancement Program (Org 12900) and $235,054 from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program (Org 15665) totaling $440,004. The funding sources are Transient Occupancy Tax Revenues and General Purpose Revenue.

DISCO RIOT

Disco Riot is an organization all about building a movement through movement to make art culture in San Diego more relevant, more impactful, and more collaborative. Today’s allocation of $20,000 to DISCO RIOT will support the Queer MVMNT Fest, S P A C E Alliance Artist Residency Program, Choreo &, and ongoing donation-based dance classes. The pandemic has created continued challenges for appropriately resourcing the programs and the impact of losing affordable and accessible performance venues and rehearsal spaces is still there. Today’s allocation addresses the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Disco Riot’s ability to provide local dance experiences.

 

Noah Homes, Inc.

Noah Homes provides exceptional residential care and choices for adults with developmental disabilities within an inclusive community, grounded in Catholic values. Today’s allocation of $10,000 to Autism Tree will support their Navigating Neurodiversity Program which provides families impacted by autism with individualized assistance navigating services and therapy required when a child is newly diagnosed and to help fund their Mentor Program which provide children and families impacted by autism with the social communication opportunities necessary for success including, but not limited to, music therapy, adaptive art and dance, STEM workshops, family beach days, farm days and events with the USD Football and Baseball teams.

 

Coastal Roots Farm

Coastal Roots Farm cultivates healthy, connected communities by integrating sustainable agriculture, food justice, and ancient Jewish wisdom. Today’s allocation of $4,000 to Coastal Roots Farm will support staffing and transportation costs for their Organic Food Distribution for Native Americans to provide no-cost, fresh produce deliveries for at-risk, homebound, seniors and Indigenous families living throughout District 4.

 

Culture Shock Dance Troupe, Inc.

Culture Shock Dance Troupe, Inc. utilizes dance to cultivate education, entertainment, and empowerment to inspire positive change in the communities we serve. Today’s allocation of $5,000 to Culture Shock Dance Troup, Inc. will support their free event Shock N’ The Park 2023 at the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation, to engage, educate, and inspire communities and celebrate hip hop dance.

North Park Organization of Business, Inc.

North Park Organization of Business, Inc.’s mission is to promote development and activities that support the arts, culture, community, and businesses of North Park. Today’s allocation of $20,000 to North Park Organization of Business, Inc. will support their Winter Wonderland event which includes multiple skating sessions, a laser light show, carolers, photo booths and crafts. The funds will also support one Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Rapid Response Homeless Coordinator outreach position whose scope of work would be to respond to the needs of businesses as it relates to dealing with unsheltered individuals.

 

San Diego Children’s Choir

The San Diego Children’s Choir provides children with music education and performance opportunities that foster performance excellence and collaboration at the highest artistic level, nurturing individual development and creating a foundation for lifelong success. Today’s allocation of $3,500 to San Diego Children’s Choir will support partial salary of artistic director, middle and high school choir director to supplement continued loss of funding.

 

San Diego Diplomacy Council

The San Diego Diplomacy Council’s mission is to create professional, cultural, and educational experiences that connect people and organizations, driving positive changes in themselves, their communities, and the world. Today’s allocation of $10,000 to San Diego Diplomacy Council will support the staff responsible for bringing international visitors into San Diego through the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) and to support the staff responsible for bringing international visitors into San Diego through the Custom Programs.

 

San Diego Regional Fire & Emergency Services Foundation

San Diego Regional Fire & Emergency Services Foundation’s mission is to strengthen the system of fire and emergency services in San Diego County. Today’s allocation of $10,000 to San Diego Regional Fire & Emergency Services Foundation will support their EMT & Wildfire Curriculum Development which is a one-time cost to develop culturally diverse programming supporting English language learners. Funds will also support labor costs for EMT & Wildfire instruction including lead instructors and an assistant.

 

San Diego Urban Warriors

San Diego Urban Warriors’ mission is to use theatre and creativity to develop healthy, active, fit, youth, families and communities, mind, body and spirit, while raising the level of appreciation and power for African American art, culture and heritage. Today’s allocation of $10,000 to San Diego Urban Warriors will support the 31st Annual Kuumba Fest which enhances the economy, strengthening opportunities for working artist and support technicians, raising levels of awareness, through edutainment, positive images, challenges, spiritual rejuvenation.

 

Transgender Health and Wellness Centers

Transgender Health and Wellness Centers aims to be the preeminent provider of services and support for the transgender community by offering support and vital resources to those in need. Today’s allocation of $10,000 to Transgender Health and Wellness Centers will support supervised job skills training on medical equipment in the art and science of hair removal, tattoo removal, and body sculpting which creates economic reinvestment in the San Diego District 4 community by preparing residents for sustainable employment.

 

Urban Restoration Counseling Center

Urban Restoration Counseling Center’s mission is to disrupt the cycle of intergenerational trauma by changing the Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) communities understanding of mental health. Today’s allocation of $10,000 to Urban Restoration Counseling Center will support funds to establish and fortify the foundation needed for the Therapy for All program. Program establishes a self-sustainable training program designed to educate and develop clinicians of color with the skills to deepen the healing in communities of color and promote mental health wellness for BIPOC families.

 

Volunteer with Cheli, Inc.

Volunteer with Cheli, Inc. is a movement created by volunteers, for volunteers, to increase awareness of the LGBT+ community by inspiring volunteers to make a difference in the community we are all part of. Today’s allocation of $2,450 to Volunteer with Cheli, Inc. will support hiring a professional to facilitate next board retreat, Board development training, and supporting board members in pursuit of professional development conferences or other networking events and to fund background checks for volunteers to ensure the safety of their volunteers and community partners.

 

College Area Economic Development Corporation

The College Area Economic Development Corporation's mission is to provide a united voice for members and give each business owner the ability to flourish. Today’s allocation of $10,000 to College Area Economic Development Corporation will support initial capital improvements and purchases to convert their building into the more effective community-use building to help bring the building up to standards of ADA compliance for accessibility and to offer a modern, inviting space for the numerous neighborhood organizations to meet, work and collaborate.

 

Believe It. Achieve It.

Believe It. Achieve It. is a health and wellness non-profit focused on educating the body and strengthening the mind of youth and adolescents through physical fitness beyond traditional “P.E.” Today’s allocation of $10,000 to Believe It. The mission of City Heights Town Council, Inc. is to advocate for and on behalf of the community through building relationships among neighbors and creating safe, attractive neighborhoods to improve the quality of life for the residents. Today’s allocation of $3,500 to City Heights Town Council, Inc. will support the cost of office supplies, electronics, paper, ink, toner, binders, etc.

 

Experience Nature Unplugged dba Mission Edge San Diego

Experience Nature Unplugged aims to help individuals, families, educators, and organizations break free from the clutches of technology overuse, reconnect with nature and engage with life and work in a whole new way. Today’s allocation of $20,000 to Experience Nature Unplugged dba Mission Edge San Diego will support materials and one-time costs associated with Nature Unplugged Educational Presentations and Train-the-Trainer materials such as workbooks, books, educational conversation cards, training manuals, trainee materials, facilitator materials and technology, portable storage containers, branded t-shirts, cell phone sleeping bags, water bottles, camping chairs, roll top tables, field journals, pens/pencils/markers, white boards and dry erase markers, clipboards, name tags.

 

The Grandparents Connection, Inc.

The Grandparents Connection is a group of Grandparents offering support to Grandparents and relatives in raising children under the age of 18. Today’s allocation of $5,000 to Grandparents Connection, Inc. will support their outdoor events for families and the community in which they serve to come together to embrace other grandparents, caregivers, and families by providing for the purchase of ongoing event equipment’s such as coolers, tents, filers, refrigerators, generators, canopies, warmers for food, banners, and children games.

 

Neighborhood House Association

The Neighborhood House Association’s mission to enrich lives through a continuum of education and wellness services with a special current focus on supporting San Diego’s lowest income families and their children during trying times that we are experiencing today. Today’s allocation of $20,000 to Neighborhood House Association will support assistance with the start-up costs for the new Culinary Education and Training Center by providing for the purchase of furniture, small wares, cooking equipment, IT equipment, and similar items needed to begin operating the training programs.

Old Globe Theatre

The mission of the Old Globe is to preserve, strengthen, and advance American theatre by: Creating theatrical experiences of the highest professional standards; Producing and presenting works of exceptional merit, designed to reach current and future audiences; Ensuring diversity and balance in programming; Providing an environment for the growth and education of theatre professionals, audiences, and the community at large. Today’s allocation of $20,000 to Old Globe Theatre will support the purchase of two new transportation shuttles seating 12 elderly or mobility-impaired guests that can safely reach all parking lots in Balboa Park and 40 replacement batteries for assisted listening devices that accommodate hard-of hearing guests.

 

St. Stephen’s Church of God in Christ of San Diego, California

St. Stephen’s Church of God in Christ offers a community space through its ministries and multiple services along with other community events. Today’s allocation of $25,000 to St. Stephen’s Church of God in Christ of San Diego, California will support the cost of remodeling and developing the new space in the lower level of the church site facility to house a childcare center they have partnered with called Purpose Driven Daycare Center that is open to all on a non-denominational basis. The remodeling include installation of new flooring for an upgraded kitchen area, refurbishing of an outdoor playground space for the children, and furnishing the new space.

 

SanDiego350

SanDiego350 is building a movement to prevent the worst impacts of climate change and climate injustice through education and outreach, public policy advocacy, and mobilizing people to take action. Today’s allocation of $20,000 to SD350 will support the cost of canopies, tables, chairs, t-shirts, displays, handouts, tablets and videoconferencing system, laptops, projector, handouts to provide public education related to climate change, environmental justice and sustainability to diverse adult and youth residents in County Supervisorial District 4 at no cost.

 

San Diego Blood Bank

San Diego Blood Bank connects diverse communities to save and improve lives through blood and biotherapies. Today’s allocation of $20,000 to San Diego Blood Bank will support the cost of purchasing a new bloodmobile to make it possible for them to meet donors in the communities, who in return, help build their robust blood supply for patients in need.

 

San Diego Diplomacy Council

The San Diego Diplomacy Council’s mission is to create professional, cultural, and educational experiences that connect people and organizations, driving positive changes in themselves, their communities, and the world. Today’s allocation of $7,500 to San Diego Diplomacy Council will support the cost of laptops, docking stations and laptop cases to replace old, broken and dysfunctional equipment to them to efficiently and effectively return to in person programming now that international travel has resumed.

 

San Diego Parks Foundation

San Diego Parks Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life of communities throughout the city of San Diego through equitable investments in parks, greenspace, and recreational opportunities. Today’s allocation of $20,000 to San Diego Parks Foundation will support the installation of lighting for public safety, to prevent falls and extend usage times in the evenings.

 

Southern Regional Resource Center, Inc.

Southern Regional Resource Center, Inc. is the leading provider of free caregiver support services for families caring for older adults living with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. Today’s allocation of $10,000 to Southern Regional Resource Center will support the one-time cost to digitize client files, migrate SCRC's locals’ data from VPN to SharePoint (cloud), purchase laptops, purchase office desks/chairs/partitions for shared workstations which provides clients with choice based on personal safety/comfort levels, and enables more families to overcome access barriers to the vital programs/services created by the pandemic restrictions.

 

Transgender Health and Wellness Center

Transgender Health and Wellness Centers aims to be the preeminent provider of services and support for the transgender community by offering support and vital resources to those in need. Today’s allocation of $30,000 to Transgender Health and Wellness Center will support the cost of electrolysis machines, laser hair removal machine, laser tattoo removal machine, and body sculpting machine which provides opportunities for clients to get the critical health care they need and to enhance the community by creating the opportunity for unemployed persons to learn critical job skills by training on the equipment to provide services for much-needed gender affirming care.

 

Volunteer with Cheli, Inc.

Volunteer with Cheli, Inc. is a movement created by volunteers, for volunteers, to increase awareness of the LGBT+ community by inspiring volunteers to make a difference in the community we are all part of. Today’s allocation of $4,079 to Volunteer with Cheli, Inc. will support the cost of technology such as HP Envy Business Laptop, Micro Surface Pro 9, two Apple iPads, and a high yield business color laser printer to increase productivity and program effectiveness
